Demand Planner
Pieminister
£38,000 - £41,000 dependent on experience
About the role
We are hiring for an exciting role that forms a key part of our Supply Chain Team. Reporting into the Supply Chain Coordinator, you will work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to deliver a robust short-term demand forecast to our planning team. You will also have a leading role in our S&OP process, helping to generate accurate projections that inform the business’ long-term planning and strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Generation and ownership of short and long-term demand forecasts – using historical data, seasonal trends, and sales intelligence – to deliver an accurate plan
- Delivery of a highly detailed short-term horizon forecast for production scheduling, updated daily
- Preparation of fact-based analysis of forecast performance and month-on-month changes, for weekly and monthly reviews
- Work collaboratively with Commercial and Retail colleagues, as per the S&OP process, to align the company on a single sales forecast over a rolling 18-month horizon
- Utilise your analysis of trends, sales cycles, and market analysis to provide key demand input into the new product development, sign off and launch process
- Liaise with our largest customers to drive a collaborative forecasting approach to smooth out unnecessary demand fluctuations
- Management of promotions, range changes, case size changes, and other projects
- Provide cover and assistance for other Supply Chain roles and projects
- Primarily based out of our production site in Brentry, you will also make regular trips to our Head office in Old Market, Bristol where our Commercial and Marketing teams are based
About you
- A high degree of competency with Microsoft Excel. Experience with Power BI is also advantageous.
- A demonstrable track record of Demand Planning (ideally in FMCG) and a firm understanding of the S&OP process.
- Comfortable with managing various internal and external stakeholders across multiple business functions. This includes being a key point of contact with your supply chain counterparts at the supermarkets, with an emphasis on building and developing relationships to ensure effective collaboration.
- Confidence to challenge customer forecasts, with the ability to clearly and transparently communicate the outcomes of your analysis.
- Excellent analytical and reasoning abilities. You will be numbers driven with a passion for data analytics and pulling signal from the noise using a facts-based approach.
- Wider end-to-end Supply Chain experience allows you to understand the importance of forecast accuracy and the adverse implications to wider business operations if this isn’t consistently achieved.
We do not expect candidates to meet all the above requirements, if you feel that you meet some of these and are interested in the role, please apply.
