About the role

We are looking for a Sustainability and Culture Assistant for a fixed-term 9-month maternity cover. You will support the delivery of Pieminister’s 9 ‘Pies, Planet, People Commitments’, which cover environmental, social and cultural initiatives. This role combines data, reporting, communications, team engagement and culture building activities to help drive progress towards NetZero targets, as well as strengthening a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Responsibilities and skills:

Variety of responsibilities including:

  • Manage carbon footprint calculation tasks including chasing invoices, extracting data, and maintaining accurate data records
  • Conduct competitor sustainability reviews to benchmark progress and identify opportunities
  • Provide required sustainability data for external partners and liaising to support platform usage, troubleshooting, and implementation of new features.
  • Prepare and input sustainability datasets, including WRAP, M2030, EPR and EUDR submissions
  • Implement the sustainability communications calendar and supporting the wider sustainability comms strategy with the Brand team
  • Support the planning, communication, and delivery of CSR and sustainability-related events with the Brand team
  • Prepare monthly and half-yearly carbon reporting decks, ensuring accuracy and clarity
  • Lead on ‘Commitment 8’ activities related to culture cultivation, diversity & inclusion, team-building and workplace wellbeing
  • Support workplan meetings by ensuring data is accurate and up to date, tracking activities, and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Assist the HR Manager and Officer Manager with note taking and other admin tasks when necessary


About you

Essential

  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Confidence handling data, with excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge or awareness of carbon measurement and reporting
  • Genuine interest in sustainability, CSR, culture, and inclusion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners
  • A proactive approach, with a willingness to learn and participate in training/webinars


Desirable

  • Experience with Microsoft BI tools, sustainability reporting platforms, or carbon data
  • Understanding of sustainability frameworks (WRAP, M2030, EPR, EUDR)
  • Experience coordinating events or internal engagement activities
  • Creative approach to cultural and communications-led projects
  • Sustainability qualification or 2 years’ experience working in industry

  • Salary of £30,000 - £32,000 dependent on experience
